We have been hard at work.  It’s been almost a year since we’ve updated the blog because we’ve been so busy and focused on some very exciting improvements!

Focus on volunteer retention rates.

Did you know that the average turnover rate for volunteers is 34%? Compared to the national employee turnover rate of 3.1%, it is quite alarming that only 65% of volunteers continue volunteering the subsequent year.

We are committed to improving volunteer retention. Volunteers frequently quit because of poor volunteer management programs.

Placing Volunteers in appropriate volunteer positions

Our free online service helps potential volunteers match their skills and interests with the perfect volunteer opportunity. Recognizing and appreciating volunteers’ contribution  We make it very simple to quickly access the information nonprofits need. Instantly know who is helping your organization and see a breakdown of how they spend their time volunteering for you. We encourage nonprofits to reward their top volunteers because each organization has a leader board for volunteers’ service hours.

Also, we send automated e-mails thanking volunteers for their contribution. So no volunteer effort will ever go unnoticed.

Volunteer Orientation and Training

While we don’t directly host orientations, we certainly do urge organizations to deliverthis service. The New Volunteer Workforce shows that investing in volunteer training and support will lead to increased volunteer retention. Since VolunteerMark makes recruiting, organizing, tracking, and placing volunteers so easy we free up volunteer coordinators time to focus on delivering training and program enhancements.
